Storyline
Tom Cruise played Barry Seal who was a young, talented airline pilot caught by the CIA for smuggling Cuban cigars. Instead of charging Barry for the crime, the CIA officer, Monty Schafer, enlisted Seal to do aerial surveillance over Central America. This assignment snowballed into drug running, cartel dealings, and weapons delivery.
Typical Cruise lightheartedness made this film fun to watch despite its serious subject matter. The movie was inspired by the real life story of Adler Berriman Seal.
