This is such a quick recipe for a delicious weekday dinner!

Overview:

  1. Sauté ingredients in deep skillet.
  2. Add sauce and cream. Simmer.
  3. Boil pasta.
  4. Serve

Ahead of Time:

  • If the sausages are frozen, remove them from the freezer the night before.
  • The sauce can be made ahead of time (boil farfalle just before serving).

Serving Ideas:

Have some grated Parmesan cheese handy.

Add a side of salad.

Ingredients:

2 tbs olive oil

1/2 cup onions, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

1 lb honey garlic sausage, casing removed, crumbled

a jar of pasta sauce, (approximately 600ml)

1/2 to 3/4 cup heavy cream, to taste

1/2 tsp salt

The name “farfalle” means “butterflies” in Italian, which is fitting given the pasta’s distinctive shape.

Directions:

Heat oil in a deep skillet, add crumbled sausage and sauté.

Add onions, garlic, and red pepper flakes to skillet and continue to sauté.

Incorporate sauce, heavy cream, and salt to skillet. Let simmer until sausage is cooked and flavors combine.

Boil pasta in a separate pot.

Serve.
